Throughout the last few days, we have been discussing what type of environment we learn best in. Do we like being able to talk? Will learning occur if we do? These conversations sparked a metacognition movement with the students. I asked them to write down a few classroom rules that they would learn best in. I combined some and summarized others. From the compilation we have 7 rules that you see above.
Interestingly enough, almost every student wrote the rule, "Do Not Bully!" I found that interesting. Many parents have the same fear, that students will be bullied.
Mr. Nelson and I hope that with our positive influence and modeling, bullying will not be a problem. We strive, with your support and example, to give your child a confident voice to stand up to negative influences. The reality is, our classes are great. With four days under our belt, I predict an amazing year with these amazing kids!
